    Hi Y'all

I'm currently working on a city diorama which includes a cable car and several city sounds from ITT. The track is point to point and will be utilizing a Circuitron AR-2 reversing board. I would like to incorporate the cable car sound module from ITT with this setup. Here's my question.

I'm not very familiar with the workings of an opto sensor. Can I hook up my sound circuit directly to a sensor at each reversing point (like an on/off switch) to have the sound cut off when the cable car is over the sensor and turn back on after the car reverses past it? It will be on a 10 to 15 second delay at each end and I would like the sound to shut off while the cable car is in delay and turn on after it leaves. The sound module will be on its own circuit so I know I'll need two separate pairs of opto sensors (one set for the AR-2 and the other for the sound board).

Does the sensor keep the circuit shut off while it is covered by the car or permanently until it is reactivated by another sensor?

Thanks for any assistance or information you may be able to give me.
