One of the reasons for all these pics was that I got myself a digi-camera this summer, so went out & experimented with it, here's a couple more of the results...

This is 57601, the class 57 demonstrator heading west out of Exeter past St Thomas. I nearly didn't take this shot due to it being into the sun, but I'm quite pleased with the results.
57601 is an ETH (HEP for you US folk) fitted class 47 re-engined with an EMD 12cyl turbocharged (I think) power unit, I think that makes it an SD39 or similar. [IMG]
Oh, and it's a rather cool purple & silver colour!

GMD built 66081 arrives in Par with empty cement wagons from Moorswater. There's lots of "old railway" infrastructure left in Cornwall!

A pair of class 159 units from South West Trains approach Starcross, on the banks of the river Exe.

Slightly further west is Cockwood, where the line crosses the harbour. A class 150 unit heads north (railway east) towards Exeter.

    Hope you enjoy :D

Very nice high res pictures, Martyn; have you seen the wonderful array of semaphore signals at Truro station?

I'm not quite sure how the semaphore signalling system in Cornwall works (mechanical? electrical?) but it does make for some good photography.
