Actually I've never had a problem buying feminine items for my ex-wifes and girl friends. The most fun was buying queen size pantie hose for the sister of a friend.

I have heard of using nylons for sifting ballast but never thought of make up for weathering. I'll have to go visit the dollar store.

I save my nylons that have developed holes and use them for sifting dirt. I take soil from outside in a plastic coffee can. I put it in an old microwave in my basement and cook it for about ten minutes. It kills all the micro organisms and some not so micro. Anyway I then sift, first in an ordinary sifter then through my nylons. I get a lot of very fine dirt for modeling. I'll be using some on my first module I'm building and logging on my blog.

I too was expecting a scary boxcar billboard add style or something....I was almost to scared to venture into this thread :)

The boxcar looks great!!..good job. Hmmmm I have a wife and five teenage daughters and my mother in law lives with us (I am the sole male in the house except for the cat....but he is fixed).

I should have plenty of weathering supplies :)

Me too - but very nice work Candy.
Are you keeping the wheels for use when putting makeup on your own face? :)

If you borrow the ladies' makeup without asking that could change of course :)

This car looks good. Do you have to seal it? Or is this make up resistant to abrasion?

Hi Wolfgang ! I think it's quite resistant, but I gave it a spray of Dullcote just to be safe, and also to get rid of the shine.

    Cover Girl Weathering

Being a guy I've never bought any of that Cover Girl stuff but have used ladies hairspray as a glue/sealer for landscaping. Use the cheap stuff it glues down grass excellently.

I work for CVS (Caremark), as a cashier. Keep your eyes open for:
BOGO - By One Get One free, (or 1/2 off). Also look for any clearance items which arn't always in the cosmetics area.

Lots of other great model railroad things there depending on the time of year. Straws for pipe loads, skewers for holding foam together and making fences and lots of things, and quite a bit more. I'll try to make a list as the seasons change.
