I have been having a heck of a time finding photos or information about CP operations in and around Montreal, specifically in the port, and at St. Luc yard. Anyone have photos or a list of train symbols for the Montreal area, also can anyone give me an idea how CP runs their ops from the port and also for trains heading on to the D&H? thanks, Jan
JAN Perhaps these maps may be of interest!!! http://www.proximityissues.ca/Maps/RAC-2004-QC_South_sub.pdf http://www.proximityissues.ca/Maps/RAC-2004-MontrE9al_sub.pdf http://www.proximityissues.ca/Maps/RAC-2004-QC_sub.pdf
Okane, thanks, those are great! I was doing some looking at the port of Montreal website and it indicates more than a million containers a year are coming through it now, 60% of which are being rail loaded, and 3/4 of those are loading on the CPR. I must admit that I had no idea that CP was operating such a massive intermodal operation in Montreal. I previously thought that Montreal was iced in in the winter and that was a reason that CP was hauling so many containers to and from Montreal and the port of Philadelphia. I am now left a bit confused. Where is CP in Montreal doing its: Intermodal loading intermodal train building Is POM RR building trains for them that CP power is coming in to pick up and move out? Or does POM RR pull loads to St. Luc for them? thanks again, Jan
