Howdy, I am modeling in O gauge but I have a road crossing along the back wall of the layout and I really think something in S might look better. Where would I find a set of road crossing signals in S gauge? These do not have to be lighted, a red jewel or something like that would work. Thanks, marxalot
I'm not sure there is such a beast in S scale. The ones I've seen have been HO and they were oversized for HO so they seemed to work. Greg
I remember having something non-operating in plastic, using it with my Lionel as a youth. Does this sound at all familiar? Boxcab E50
Marx used to have crossing gates and lights as accessories. The ones I remember were plastic and non functional but did look good, compared to the oversized ones Lionel sold that actually worked. I don't recall any Lionel ones that were small enough to use in S but that doesn't mean they didn't have them. Greg
Might have been Marx. I did have a few pieces of their stuff. Seems to me these were undersized, so could have worked with S. Did Plasticville have some as well? Boxcab E50
Doh! They might have been plasticville now that you said that. I haven't seen them since I was in high school. A box of plastic buildings and such got packed away and seems to have vanished somehow from my parents house. Maybe it got garage saled or something but since no trains were in the box it didn't bother me. Plasticville had a nice bridge signal that spanned two tracks also IIRC. Greg
The reason I thought of Plasticville is memories of their structures seeming to be undersized for O. But about right for S. Boxcab E50
