    Hi folks,

I've been away again for quite a while, but I still try to catch up with this list whenever I have a chance. I took two weeks of vacation in June and had a chance to visit Cumberland again, this time actually getting up to see Sand Patch itself, with a tour of the Magnolia Cutoff afterwards (unfortunately, no trains came through at either location, but the scenery was great!

Anyway, here's a link to some photos I've put together from this latest trip, plus a couple that I posted a year ago after my first visit:

I'll try to keep adding more pictures as time and web space allows...

    Have a great weekend! :D

I have family both in Cumberland and also 2 miles from Sand Patch. I love the area too. I had the pleasure of riding Amtrak once to Cumberland and home. It was great. Usually it's by car (and it's quicker anyway).
I agree the area is lovely once you leave the City of Cumberland. The Amish around Sand Patch make it a peaceful place. Last time I was there, there was a derailment North of Sand Patch and nothing moved at all. We did make (another) run to Horseshoe Curve which is always a treat!
    Loved your photos!

    Dave,
Great photos! It is nice to see some CSX action! I have not been to Cumberland in several years, but it brings back memories. Thanks!
