I would tend to believe that there is a surplus. I have not been over that way in a while. But I hear that there are plenty of units stored around the Livingston Rebuild Center. Boxcab E50
A lot of recent lease turnbacks are starting to re-appear. I was amazed to see several solid sets of green BN power hauling freight north to Canada the last few days. I think what is happeneing is that BNSF turned back a huge lot of their ex-BN SD40-2s recently and is now taking the good ones on short term leases. Even with all the new power coming in, It seems that turning back all those SD40s has put a dent in the BNSF's roster and they are making it up with short timers.
