I just purchased a 72 ft Steamlined Passenger Car set (4 cars) that I think I will likely setup as a simple oval around my Study ceiling someday. The engine set hasn't come in yet but they are on order to complete the set. What would be a good curve radius for such a simple layout plan? :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin:
Wow! Sounds cool! I would say the wider the radius the better as you will want to run fast with this one...
Based on doing a little research on this set, I'm thinking 42" curves unless I can get away with 54" curves. The room I'm thinking of running these around the cealing is basically a 10x10 room. So, I need to keep the curves tight but not to tight; plus, I have to keep the windows operational since they are part of the fire escape of the basement. Nothing fancy but it should be fun to have them running in some form... :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin:

curves Bachmann says the coaches will run on 42" so it's almost safe to say 42. What type of engine did you order?
Yes, the locomotive will have a minimum curve rating itself. I've seen a few larger locos that require curves over 50". Best!
