I wanted to set up a consist where the locos would have a CV 19 address (e.g., 85) when in the consist but would also maintain their previous individual address when I wanted to run them separately (e.g., I had assigned 8509 as an address for one of the locos and 8541 for the other). It seems that setting a CV 19 address caused the original address to go back to its default value (CV 1 = 3). So, is there any way to have a loco respond to different addresses or does setting CV 19 override previously assigned addresses? (I am investigating using different brands of throttles with my command system and issues arose with consists.) Thank you Dan
Dan, The "Advanced Consiting" section in http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/nswmn2/DCC.htm#FunConON should help. Bob
That should not happen, but as long as CV 19 is set, it will only respond to the consist address. You have to clear cv19 to get it to respond to its regular address.
Thank you both very much. As I need to go back & forth between the consist and the individual locos, I'll use Universal Consisting via my command station - breaking up the consist (so I can run the locos individually) is very simple & quick. Dan
