OK, I try and exhaust all the resources I can before I come here with my questions. I don’t want to appear to be with someone that’s too lazy to search for the answers first. But this one’s got me stumped, or it’s right under my nose and I’m too stupid to see it. Or I didn’t punch in the right verbiage during my search process.

I also like to keep my Z-scale questions in Z-scale forum, even though this one is DCC oriented.

So, can anyone provide links or direct me to previous articles regarding all I need to know about using MTL switches and DCC. This would include juicing or not juicing the frogs. If juicing the frogs, I’m most curious about the electrical connections for that process.

I’m in the midst of flipping the switch motors to the underside, and that is going very well due to the tip I picked up on this forum alone.

Basically just looking for the things I need to take into consideration when it comes to using MTL switches as I begin to wire my layout for DCC.

I don't remember using any MTL turnouts with DCC, but I am sure people have. When MTL turnouts came out most Z Bend Track modelers were running with DCC.

I built one module with all Marklin turnouts, and only burnt one turnout up with DCC in 15 years on that module. One thing to consider is that with DCC you better always watch your trains, because when the wheels pick the points, and short, then the DCC will cycle and heat up and melt your loco trucks.

I think David K Smith did some kind of evaluation of MTL turnouts for DCC many years ago. I don't know where but you might look through his Z Scale layout builds here: http://davidksmith.com/
