My command station is going onboard my battery powered G scale loco.
I just want to use the IBT_2.

What do I need to change in the config.m file etc to just use the IBT_2 by itself for "main track"?

I'm sure somebody out there has done this before.

    Thanks in advance!

The DCC++EX website discusses using the IBT_2 here. You should be able to just follow the directions for "upgrading", because you will only be using the IBT_2 for the main track output. You can leave off the Arduino motor shield but you shoudn't have to make any additional changes if you're simply not going to have a program track output at all.

    Yes, thanks, read that.

    1. Tried doing as you suggest, doesn't work. I see in the serial monitor that "Programming Track Overload". Main track DCC is unstable. All the current sensing measures are in place (resistors and zenier diode).

    2. I've seen other threads around the web with a definition for IBT_2_ONLY in the config. Cant find those posts now.

One solution is to jumper A1 to GND. Or, use <1 MAIN> instead of <1> to turn on power -- which will keep programming track OFF.

Jumper from A1 to ground did it. Thanks!
