Are there any decent hobby shops in the Orlando/Disney area? This is the only part of Florida I haven't been to yet. Were going to Disney for a week next month but I'm renting a car one day to go visit an aunt in Williston. [IMG]

I know of one, I've heard of others. Haven't been though. The one I know of is Colonial Photo & Hobby Inc. Thier kinda heard to spot, it's in an old Publix Supermarket (40ish style building). It's 634 N. Mills, East side of downtown Orlly. (I think) Their listed in MR. Nice people, little pricey; but got more than I've seen in shops on the East Coast of FL. Tex'n Rails would be WAY TO FAR south. If nobody else knows any try Yahoo's Yellow Pages for Hobby Shops. Careful though, lot of Tourist Traps may be listed too. There is a shop up in Ocala (that's a good 1 and 1/2 hours north of Orlly. REAL great people, Trains Of Ocala (he's got a website www.angelfire.com/fl/trainsofocala/index.html )
Drop me an e-mail I can give more details.

**Not affilated with any of the above, just trying ta' help** :D :D

I'm afraid this won't be much help since I cannot remember the store name, but it was on International Drive near Ripleys and a restaurant called the Crab House I believe. The store has a large G scale layout and has a list of questions you answer by looking around the layout. They chose a winner once a month I think it was, the prize being gift certificates. The layout is very nice, the store's selection is varied amoung several scales. Hope this helps.

GARY,I know the shop your talking about. The layout is nice. Last time I was there, middle last year, they wanted like $8 bucks to get in; thought it was steep, but the layout is sweet. The prices were pretty high there. They had a Bachmann set for $100  ! I got the same one for $40 at a shop in Sarasota. (It was my first set. I use the track for testing.) It's next to RACE ROCK on International Drive; toward the south end. RACE ROCK is AWESOME :D :D . If you are ANY "Motorized" Racing fan you'll love it.

GATS, I thank you to for the link, too. I hadn't been able to find all those places where I had looked. Ain't that the way though, your on the other side of the world and you find shops I'm three hours from. :D

Anyways... Good luck on your SPREE Herman. Just remember traffic is NASTY    there. Also, May all the parks be light in people and the rides open ;) .

Thanks Sir Prize. I'm very familiar with the basic rules of Florida driving as I used to get to Coconut Grove twice a year when my Mother was living there.
    Rule#1 Accelerater to the floor.
Rule#2 Stay out of way of anyone with white hair and/or funny hat.
Rule#3 Make eye contact with NO ONE. :D

    Yup! That's it. :D
Also, watch for places that say FREE, EARLY BIRD, BINGO, GARAGE SALE, or BUFFET. The persons in Rule #2 frequent these places, and pay less attention to things around'em.
