Decoders for Kato mech

    Can anyone tell me if there is a decoder that will fit straight into a Kato split frame mech.?
    For a Kato SD40.

    right but wrong !

    the dnk163k1a with the yellow or white led fits a sd40.

    the dn163k1a with the new golden white led does not fit sd40/sd40-2 !! the led is mounted higher than on the older versions therefore lifting the cab. you need to file down the led by 1 mm.

    you could try dn163k1b instead.
