Thank you everyone for your replies, I just can't answer each one at this time. We can't sell the muddy containers, it is considered "toxic" and they have to be cleaned. We lost a lot of plans and drawing too. Dave
Understand your comment on not being able to sell the muddy containers. If you find at some point that you have rolling stock which is undamaged except that it has become stained or discolored, perhaps you have someone "weather" that rolling stock, and there might be some people who might be interested in that.
I have uploaded a Hurricane Irene update page with some additional photos: http://www.deluxeinnovations.com/Irene2011.html The new photos are also on the home page. Dave
Wow. That's some pretty extensive damage. Still, the latter photos show some hope of good progress on the repairs / renovations. On the bright side, it would seem that now would be a good time to make any changes to your processes and or facilities that you've been putting off because you'd have to tear up too much stuff... Please do keep us posted!
Dave, Best of luck in your recovery efforts. I think we all look forward to Deluxe being up and running in the near future. Charlie
I hope that your recovery efforts are not too heavily impacted by the needs of others, who are also trying to rebuild their lives. I would believe demand might be draining available manpower or material resources and could slow the whole process.
It looks like you're doing everything right. You've torn out the lower drywall and you're ventilating all of that before putting it back together. That's a good way to avoid raising your own mold colonies.
Well certainly you have stock that is in perfect condition BUT has damaged packaging which is unfit to sell...I'd be interested in that!
I'd second that... take stock from muddy box, dunk in clean water, throw in a clean box, ship to meeee! On a more serious note, I'm sure there's plenty of market for dirty but otherwise new rolling stock that's gotten dirty... would have to beat tossing it all in the trash! Sell it by the boxful!
Yea buddy Don't take a loose on anything. If it don't clean up good then sell it at cost and get your money back to buy new again at least. if there are any bad N scale Loco's Let me know
