    What is the story on this unit? An RS3(?) that has a chopped nose? And that box behind the cab? An added air filter?

    Yes, they were rebuilt with 251 series prime movers and rated at 2,000 h.p.

    I shot that back in 1987 I believe! In Binghamton, NY that is.

    Thanks Darren for posting it!

    Binghamton was a hotbed of old diesels, between the D&H and Susie Q! By the way, the D&H was under Guilford's control and many of it's roads were represented there in the old D&H yard!

    I think that paint scheme was for the 1976 celebration of the beginning of the USA. Somewhere I have one for a B&M diesel and will have to look it up.
