Can anyone help me ID the horns on these units. I want to try to order the proper parts for my project. Link to larger photo of 1810: http://www.railimages.com/albums/ADN-Prototype-Locomotives/aaq.jpg Link to larger photo of 1811: http://www.railimages.com/albums/ADN-Prototype-Locomotives/aar.jpg
Tad: I will move this to the railfan forum where those guys know everything. I once asked about the number of rivets on a radiator door and one of them had a drawing. Surely they will know the horn types. Probably better than N scale. Really nice ADN pictures! I like the GP10 types. [ November 14, 2005, 11:19 AM: Message edited by: sapacif ]
I keep thinkign this is some form of a Nathan P5....but I can only see 4 bells? With my optivisor's...i think they are Nathan P-5's....with the #2 bell reversed
As an aside...how can you reverse a "bell?" Do you just bolt it to the other side? Looks like it would be fixed in one direction or the other.
Well, I looked around after you replied, Pat, and I found this link: Nathan P5 I think that they are actually Nathan P135R24's. What do y'all think? BTW, Thanks, Flash.
Yeah Tad, you found it.....I figured it was a modified P5. Not sure if there is one actually manufactured, though. That'll be the hard part, even harder in N Scale.
Flash, yes for the most part they can just be un-bolted and turned around (replace gaskets if rebuilding it) and re-bolt. I think they generally do this to project the sound in both directions...........airwaves and such. Safety thing incase they are running LHF or whatnot.
