Hi all I've a new DCS52 Zephyr Express. Can you connect a Zephyr Xtra as a booster to this Zephyr Express? I can't find anything about this in the manuals. DCS50 and DCS51 can do that, but what about the new Zephyr???? Many thanks for informations
Yes, you can connect a Zephyr Xtra (DCS51) as a booster (or any other booster) to the Zephyr Express. Configure the DCS51 as a booster as instructed in the DCS51 manual and the connect it as if connecting to another DCS51 but replace the command station DCS51 with the DCS52 in the instructions.
If you can consider simply upgrading to a Evolution Express. You will have more power and a new 602 throttle. That said, I have read of people adding another Zephyr as a booster. You could add a DB150 and keep the Zephyr as the command station if you like it.
Thank you. I understand that. My problem is different. I have two Zephyrs. A DCS52 Express and the DCS51 Xtra. Both work wonderfully separately. If I program the DCS51 as a booster, it has no track current at the Rail A/Rail B output. All LocoNet cables are completely OK. Everything was tested with the cable tester. What's wrong with that???? By the way, everything works the other way around. Express as command station and Xtra as booster----No Xtra as command station and Express as boister----Yes What that??????
Good day- I have the same stations as Dogwood. I have read the DCS51 manual, and see how to change it to a booster. Is the DCS51 connected to the track power via the A&B terminals? Although according to Dogwood, the 51 as booster doesn't work with the 52 as commmand station. Still true?
Nobody has been able to help me so far. Now I have two new DCS52s. They work as expected. My old DCS51 is now a throttle in the LocoNet. Digitrax (Help Desk) was also overwhelmed.
Try also asking on the Digitrax IO Groups. They have a lot of experts there and since it's all about Digitrax...
