Welcome aboard Gerry. Comments above aside, you have done a great job with your 'test' diorama. I, for one, look forward to the PWR's progress. People like Paul (Colonel) and myself work on the track in signals and see the ballast first-hand on a day to day basis. Nothing like rail curve grease and traction motor bearing 'goop' on hands and clothing to spoil a good day! Gary.
I hope to meet you, you will probably see me doing security at the next November train show in Vancouver, with Army Cadets. Stop by and say hi. If you look at the March issue of MR, 2001 on page 58 and again on page 62, two excellent examples of modeling. But if you look at the track on either, there is no hint that engines have crossed those tracks 10,000 times. The ballast is too clean. Concerning your diorama and these two examples, I wish my skills were as good as displayed by you and those modelers. But I still notice the ballast....lol.
I'm trying to figure out how to post more pictures of the diorama here... [ 14 March 2001: Message edited by: Gerry M ]
Gerr--very nice job on the diorama. You certainly have the RIGHT railroad there. Please don't kitbash that cute little deezul.
Gerry, you are probably doing the right thing but Yahoo may be preventing the pictures from being reposted. you may want to think about opening an account at www.photopoint.com
Gerry, nice job! I'm new to the hobby, to a point, only cuz I haven't had the money to get a layout built, and SPACE.... So all I have is a bunch of cars, and about 12 locos. * I dunno why I bought so many... * I just wish I could build a layout to look as good as your one module!
