I was wondering if anyone who creates files for Shapeways is willing to create files for myself or anyone else? If so, what do I need to give you to create said files. Thanks, Scott
It depends on what you want to do. I don't make files for Shapeways but I do make my own files for my own prints in my own resin printer. I am developing a number of things that will eventually be for sale. Here are some pics of examples of what I'm doing. https://www.trainboard.com/highball...-on-your-workbench.68159/page-10#post-1085241
tracktoo, At this point I want to get some smoke boxes made so I can start scratch building some locos. I had planned on getting the smokebox, stack, and head light made in one piece out of clear material. We have a machine at work, but it does not print fine enough for Z scale. I have a 2D layout, I need to get it into 3D.
If you have good, dimensioned, 2D drawings that should be sufficient for making the parts. If it was something that I would do I can make the 3D drawings from that information. There can even be accuracy advantages to doing it that way. If you want to pursue something like this send a PM.
