N scale SD45t-2 N scale SD35 N scale GP35 I don't care if they are only sheels from railpwer or such, but if you know they are what chassis will they fit on?? thanks!! ------------------ TrainBoard.com MEMBER#204 THE WEB PAGE IS NOW UPDATED!! Atlas currently makes the SD35, and did produce the GP35. Some GPs are still available on eBay etc. For shells only, contact Atlas parts dept. ------------------ "Follow the Flag" Heck, I'll drink to that!

NO, as wabash_one stated, Atlas is currently making SD35's (DCC ready or equipped) and has released their "Classic" line of GP35's which are currently available in many roads/undec/DB/no DB/etc. (Kato originally made the first run for ATlas in the early '90's). As far as the tunnel motor, there may be some brass units, but no plastic. You might be able to kitbash something and stick it on a modified Atlas SD60 underframe, which would probably be the closest thing to the correct length (WARNING: I have not researched this and you should probably not try this at home ) Not having researched the topic, I cannot say how to complete it. If you feel that you really want an N scale SD45T-2, you should post a topic in the N Scale forum; someone may have already done the research for you! There's a picture of the Cotton Belt Bicentennial unit at www.omibrass.com (scroll all the way to the bottom). Unfortunately, it looks like the radiator intakes aren't see-thru. Dwight

Saw these 'shells' and others, advertised at Jims N-scale custom shells. Don't know about quality, never purchased any myself? Web site: http://www.rrtrains.com/n/jims.htm ..Eddie ------------------ Eddie Delozier PRR N-scale www.deloziers.com eddelozier@yahoo.com
I often wonder why when a manufacturer produces something like a shell, they don't expend the effort to produce a acceptable chassis to put under it? I am speaking of N scale of course. I have had conversations with the owner of Rail Power products about doing that sort of thing in N scale, and his reply was "if I ever start modeling N scale, sure!". I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to make a chassis which would accept Atlas or Kato or even Lifelike drive components. That's what Rail Power had to do when they realised that the serious modeller didn't want to adapt a chassis from an Athearn this or that. They wanted a correct chassis that was made to fit the specific shell. Thanks for listening 2slim
