Any of you know if they make E-8 "B" unit bodies????? I'm in need of 2 of them! They maybe my source for them being IHC's prices for bodies are out of this world at $31.75 each!  I got that in one full powered "A" unit! Rivarossi even!

Nope, no E's of any kind....RPP tends to go for contemporary freight units, oddballs, or ones that one else has done(although on several occasions, another maker has come out with the same thing after RPP did it, like Athearn and their C44-9W, and P2k with their SD7/9 and SD60). What RPP's done so far:

    C32-8
    C30-7
    C40-8W
    C44-9W
    B23-7
    B40-8

    CF7
    GP40X
    GP60
    GP60M
    GP60B
    SD7/9
    SD38
    SD40
    SD45
    SD45-2
    SD60
    SD9043MAC

    Did I forget anything?

I know Cary manufacturing offered E-8's (A's and B's) at one time in a metal body but I'm not sure if they are still around or not to get the metal bodies....

Cary makes E-3, 4, 6 and 7's. No E-8's. I Don't think they ever did make E-8's. I have a list of models they have discontinued over the years and it is not listed. Bowser owns the Cary line now as of May 1988.

Sadly proto didn't do the E8/E9 B units, which is a right pain in the butt if you model roads like UP who used to have only one A and loads of B's tagged on the back [IMG]

One of the chaps from our modelling group has been trying to build a UP E8 set for a while, with no joy.

Proto did do E6B and E7B's though, (both dummys) so that might be a help. Some railroads did mix them up.

I honestly didn't think of P2K! I'll have to see what they run for a E-7 or E-6 body... E-7 should be good though! In undecorated so.. I'm going to paint the 2 sets I have of E-8 "A's" to the B&O's passenger colors,, blue, gray, black and dulux gold lettering same with the "B" unit bodies when I get them. Should make a great looking set of E units ABA in B&O passenger colors! :D

Yes, the GP35- I have one in Frisco colors, and another converted to a GP35M, MP's attempt to prolong the lofe of their GP35s (deturbocharging, 645 power assemblies added to the 567 block, giving a locomotive of 2000 hprsepower). When painted, it'll be a Kiamichi RR unit.
