    OPTIONAL WEEK

This is the optional week, however I'm going to cheat and let this run until the 11th of March. Activity has been strong. At the end of this party I'd like you to critique it. For example, me listing the weeks was a result of past critiquing.

Another issue is I run these usually twice a year. My own feelings is that to have a layout party too often dilutes some of the specialness of it. However, I've been known to be wrong in life on occasion so I'd be interested in what you have to say about that.

It used to be that carrying the party for over 5 weeks didn't work, but these parties have become popular so that's the reason for including extra time. One party the guys didn't give up on the thread for about three weeks after the party ended. The first party was 8 weeks long and interest dwindled in about week five.

So don't respond to this post about critiquing, but instead think about it. I will run a separate thread asking for feed back. Good luck on your final construction.

I kind of slipped, but am rallying now. This weekend I hope to finish my original goal of the party, that of covering all bare spots with SOMETHING! I'm not looking for finished scenery, I just don't want to see plywood, screen, white plaster etc.

    This will happen!

Well, I didn't really know what to expect when I started, wasn't sure how much I could actually complete. There was enough work I could/should have split it down into smaller, better defined projects. I still need to do ground foam and vegitation, finish up the ballast, and some electrical trouble shooting that I rushed through.
There is a planned incompletion, the turnout theat goes to the back edge. For now will works as a sort of semi hidden staging. Later an incline can be added to start the climb to the upper level of a future turnaround blob.
All in all I'm quite happy with what I got done, from pink foam to this in 6 weeks.

I'm sure I'll still be puttering with this by the time the next party gets started.
Thanx to Rick for throwing the partys. I don't think I would have pushed myself without the inspiration. The partys are truely a great idea! [IMG]
