Saw two trains today with in 20 minutes of each other #1: SD80MAC #804 (CR paint), CSX C44? # 349 with roughly 100 empty coal hoppers headed for the mines. Then came the "Local" #2: SD80MAC #810 (CR Paint) C44? #376 GP38-2 #2660 roughly 15 boxcars. The interesting part was the Two SD80MACS. Then add the fact they both were in Conrail paint! THEN add they were seen within 20 minutes of each other! Made for a pretty interesting day, even If I was mowing grass. On busy days about 10 trains in 24 hours, almost ALWAYS a General Electric C44 or C60. Sometimes an SD70MAC. Haven't seen SD80's around for quite a while. But doggonit! No camera with me.
I hate it! Being their and doing that....... WITHOUT a camera! YUKK! 801 done that to me 2 times an the 3rd time was the charmer! I nailed it as you all seen with the pictures I posted of her when I got it. So now I'm a happy rail fan!
