Recieved this e-mail this afternoon. >E&N General Manager Brian Smith retired from the E&N Railway (RailAmerica)on Friday October 26,2001. He will consult for the railway for a few months trying to get business for the line. His replacement will be Anne Venema,I beleive,the first lady general manager of a railway in Canada. Anne Venema has worked for the E&N since RA took over working in the office overseeing rail operations,under Brian Smith. Anne takes over business on Monday October 29th,2001. Good Luck Anne in your new position.
The first railroad to go diesel in Canada, and now the first woman top exc. Not bad, when you consider the size of E&N.....lol.
