I've always wondered how the through sleepers were routed from Dearborn Station to La Salle Street and Union Station. Can someone enlighten me? Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
There was some discussion on these moves in the Classic Trains Magazine forum some years back. All very interesting and in most cases, pretty complex. http://cs.trains.com/ctr/f/3/t/205758.aspx
Great link thanks. I don’t know the first thing about railroads in Chicago even though my own Portobello and Joppa North Sea Coastal n scale road runs Great Lake coast side not far away. Hah. The routings give great sounding excuses for complicated short run moves that fit a model run quite nicely. Donald Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Just don't put them on the Super Chief. The Chief handled the through sleepers on the Santa Fe. Handling through sleepers at St. Louis was easier. Small wonder through cars to Houston operated longer than Pacific-bound cars.
