Have you searched Shapeways? I have seen posts and read that folks are finding various interurban shells there. Perhaps that's a possible source?
A big supposedly ConCor was going to only run the N scale version if the HO sold well enough at the time. That was back in about 2009. They may have actually built a few test beds but as far as I know there are none out there in N scale. While the HO version did sell it obviously did not sell well enough to justify an N scale production.
