An area BNSF person I know told me they had seen a GP60B coming across the High Line last week. A somewhat unusual sight.

See them around here occasionally, but out of Spokane, there's a local that will run a ABBBBA set of GP60!

    Chewela Turn, I think?

The Santa Fe is still with us. Or, at least remnants remain.

All those tank cars and no buffer cars. What were they hauling?

Really enjoying these posts of the EMD's. I have never made it a secret, that EMD's were the locomotives for me. I almost never ran one I didn't like. I am sure there are GE guys that would say same. But nothing, let me say again NOTHING sounds as good as a gaggle of EMD's doing their job. And as for me, pound for pound they were the best locomotives made. You could count on those EMD's to not be over-rated, and they would give you all they had for days, and just keep giving you all they had. And when you went into a siding, idled them down, they seemed to relax, and tell you, "we ready, when you are". Upon pushing the reverser FWD, the EMD's would all wake from their slumber as if, "OK" time to go to work.

Solid EMD sets are rare, except for odd locals. Even locals get a toaster GE in there sometimes.
And like Tom noted, nothing quite sounds as good as a brace of them in Run 8!

EMDs always seemed like the only make that didn't sound like they were missing on half the cylinders or rattling and falling apart.

    :D
