Looking at our summer plans this year, we will be in Albany, NY for ten days. We will have about a day and a half of free time and we are looking to head down the Hudson on Amtrak into New York City. Any compelling reasons to take the Adirondack, Ethan Allen Express or Empire Service trains over one of the other? The LSL eastbound is not dependable enough for our short trip, WB it leaves/arrives later than we'd like. As a side note, Why does the LSL with fewer stops take almost an hour or so longer to get to Albany than an Empire service train? Brad
Your question would probably be answered quicker if you asked it here: http://www.amtraktrains.com/ A nice group. A lot of them are or were Amtrak employees.
