Is there anyplace on the web I can go to look at various paint schemes for engines from lesser known railroads? I want to have an engine paint scheme different from the common major railroads.

The second part will be if microscale had decals for that railroad.

Q-ball, welcome aboard. I see most responses are addressing steam engines, as would I. Are you interested in diesel color schemes? You might want to go visit some of our old threads among the "Fallen Flags" forums. [IMG] My own railroad, the New York Central, wasn't very colorful, just black and various shades of grey. Some of the southern railroads like Florida East Coast and the Family Lines had some really spectacular colors on their diesels. Try net searching on the name of some of those railroads. [IMG]

    Q-ball: welcome to Trainboard!

One great source on the 'Net is George Elwell's Fallen Flags photo site- it has a boatload of shots from just about every railroad from A to Z.

Click on this link to go there.

Is there any particular railroad you're interested in?

Also, Tom Stolte's Oddballs Decals has a wide variety of decals for quite a few railroads, and also some shortlines. I've bought decals for the Frisco, Farmrail, and Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf from him, and they're first-rate. Go to
the Oddballs Decals site , click on the line that says "Click here to see the list of decals", and scroll down a bit- you'll see a rather substantial list.

    Good luck!
