Larry LaFarr, an engineer known to many north end D&H followers, died Friday at his home in Queensbury. Larry was 73 and according to his obituary worked for the D&H/CP Rail for 43 years. Many railfans will also remember him as an engineer on the Upper Hudson RR at North Creek for several years. Larry, as anyone who knew him can attest, overflowed with stories about his railroad experiences. He is survived by his widow, Roseanne, who had also worked for the D&H. There will be no calling hours and a memorial service is to be scheduled at a future date.

Donations may be made to High Peaks Hospice, 286 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

This has been a year where we've lost a lot of former RR people. :( :( :(
