A tragedy on a railway sytem that is one of the safest in the world. A sleeping car can obviously very rapidly become a death-trap, as the space is so confined. I note that the cars involved were old German ones, although they had been renovated in recent years. But the retention of wood and carpeting in sleeping cars is questionable, I feel.
