I've had good dealings with many mail order or e-mail suppliers. These include BLW, N Scale Supply, Rio Grande, TexNRails. I check their web sites almost daily to see what's new.

For the most part, since I've dealt with them the longest, I usually go first to BLW. Perhaps just out of habit? :D

This might not be the most popular opinion - but I have excellent luck with Con Cors grand central railway in cyber space. I found them to be friendly, responsive, and prices pretty darn good. I ordered some deluxe innovations and delaware valley cars from them last week - they called me to confirm my order, and I received them in 4 business days. The price was 60% off of list.

I use N-Scale Supply, Caboose Hobbies, and BLW. Otherwise, I usually shop at shows and swap meets. Very rarely buy from the local hobby shop, he's too expensive, sells list and doesn't give anyone a break.

So far I found that toy train heaven and woo woo woo woo woo woo pretty good on prices. Manhattan train & hobby was good a couple of times but then they went up in prices.

    Have fun modeling [IMG] [IMG]

I've tried to check in on this. Did a Google search to locate their URL. Couldn't get it past a "page not found" message. Could you post a working address?

    Thanks! [IMG]

This looks like the URL I was trying yesterday. Maybe their site was down for a while.

Anyhow, I got straight in today. So thanks all for the help!

While BLW has been mentioned several times as a good internet store, I've been hearing about some problems on the Atlas forum lately. It seems that there have been some delays in filling orders. Has anyone had any of these problems with BLW as of late?

Yes Bruce - I have had problems with them in the past - with BLW - it seems they are either worshipped or despised - doesn't seem to be much middle ground. :(

Got that right! I have never heard so many people carrying on (positive and negative) about a hobby store like this. I don't know whether to take this as a good or bad sign. To be honest, there are too many other recommended internet stores out there for me to try instead of rolling the dice with BLW. It seems they have a "Jekal and Hyde" thing going...

I am with you on that Bruce - I tend to steer clear of places that generate too much controversy.

To me it sounds as though they play favorites - certain customers get the red carpet, while the rest of us get the crumbs.
