For me its got to be the Kato SD90/43AC in UP. Smooth running and a real puller for unit coal. [ 20 November 2001: Message edited by: Scott Siebler ]

I think the SD90 is my favorite as well. Next would be the SD45 and C44 (both really fun to detail). I also like smaller and older diesels like Kato's RS2's and Life Likes FA's (newer version).
My vote goes to Kato's C44-9w in Red and Silver Santa Fe Warbonnet. I really like the SD80/90's, but the are of little use on my BNSF roster.....
I'd have to say it's my TC&W GP10 402. It was my first serious kitbash and looks a treat in maroon and gold. Gary.
I can't say that I have one favorite, I like several for different reasons, but here in catagories: Favorite new model - Atlas GP-38 great detail best slow speed running Honorable mention - Atlas/Kato SD-7; LL gp-20 Favorite old model - Trix U28C - first splitframe and best running early diesel honorable mention Concor PA1 favorite old steam - Trix 2-10-0 honorable mention - Atlas Riv 4-6-2 New steam - jury out until the Bachman 2-8-0
Being a fan of BIG diesels, I have to say that the Kato SD80's are my favorites. They are without a doubt, the smoothest running locos in my fleet, and thanks to Craig, the best looking. Bill
I mostly have an older fleet of Atlas (10yrs +)and alot of Concor.... I'd say my fav is the Concor PA1 (SP daylight), still runs strong after all these years.
I have to give up my favorites between 3 loco's I own.... The last (rear) loco, B&O EM-1, Ex Rivarossi Big Boy, The middle loco, Western Maryland Challenger, Ex Rivarossi UP Challenger, and front loco, Rivarossi true Mallet, the B&O EL-5... HO scale, OPPS Wrong forum! This is the N scale forum!!!!!
YEs John...Those locomotives only exist in the resident N scale peoples Greatest nightmares(the ones that live on the N layouts). And I would be scared to see a bigboy that is twice as big at the real one too! Favorite is my Fleischmann 0-6-0...truely is a firecracker, may look small but packs a powerful punch! I have to say my fav is my 5 BNSF Dash 9's, and the 3 especiall in H1 paint. Second goes to the Kato snoot nose SD40-2's in H1..... So funky lookin' they're cool!
It has to be my C44-9W's in Norfolk Southern. Especially the one done with the Operation Lifesaver logos and the safety stripes.
N scale B36-7 and the SD9043MAC are my two favourites, particulary in the BCR and CPR schemes respectivly. Dane
My favorite would have to be a MoPac SD 40-2c. Not so much because of the loco itself, but because of the Richmond Controls light set I put in it, with the flashing beacon. This never fails to get comments at club shows/open houses, especially when coupled with (pun sort of intended) a hopper with a working FRED.
I guess I would have to say that ol gal and her sister units are my favorite locos. Bachmann shells on KATO drives.A gaurenteed conversation starter at trainshows. [ 22 November 2001: Message edited by: Catt ]
