Congratulations fitz for taking 1st place! BuddyBurton and jpwisc tie for 2nd place! (We will still have a tie breaker vote to determine which photo takes 2nd place and which takes the 3rd place prize.)
fitz and Buddy, your shots were fantastic, I am honored to have finished where I did. Thanks everyone!
Thanks, everyone, I am humbled. That shot was one of thousands taken by a group of us at one of Martin Hansen's photographer specials at the Sumpter Valley narrow gauge in May. The main purpose was to get some shots of SV No. 19, as she was due to go into the 1472 day/15 year Form 4 rebuild. She will be out of service for a while. A very attractive little ALCO product. I saw her back in 1996 when she was fresh out of overhaul by Doyle McCormack, at the 100th anniversary of Portland Union Station. They had a short section of snap track set up to run her on back then, and wow, all of a sudden she's due again. Anyway, Sumpter Valley is a very scenic place as is obvious in that photo. I love it over there. :tb-biggrin:
fitz: You did great with that shot. Karl: What can I tell ya, the colors worked in your favor. Congrats to both of you!!!:thumbs_up:
