Just joined, and I guess I'm opening with a Question. About several years ago, 1991 to be exact as a Kid I had gotten my hands on an original version of the Aristo-Craft Alco FA-1 unit, In Burlington Northern Livery might I add. Well fast forward to 2 months ago, After losing countless eaby auctions to names that won't be mentioned, I managed to get my hands on a Southern Pacific Black Widow FB-1 Unit.

Today, after sifting through countless "Burlington Northern Green" paint samples, and selecting one that comes close to AristoCraft's BN Paint scheme, I took the brass, the shell, and motor trucks off and started painting my shell. I've got a lovely BN Green Booster unit now, but I've hit a dead end on decals.

I've hunted around for premade G-Scale Burlington Northern Decals, but Havn't found any. I don't have a working printer, so the home made deal is out the window, Anyone have a clue if G-Scale decals for Burlington Northern are mass produced somewhere or will this become a custom job (not like painting an SP unit to BN is custom :p )

Thanks in advance, and hopefully I'll get some pics uploaded of my motive power.

So have you found decals yet? Sounds like a neat project. I have a pair of S scale FA2's that need SP&S decals. I found some dry transfer that are very close but the red emblem is needed still.

You know, early BN didn't bother keeping their green paint consistent...

BN came a little too late to repaint any FAs. I have wondered what a set of Alco cabs would look like in Cascade green... :hmm4er:

Well, TripleX, , soon as I get some screencaps of my Ex-Southern Pacific Black Widow Booster unit, I'll post them in a PM for ya. I used Testor's railroad brand (at least the label says marketed by Testors) because the sample was close to what Aristo-Craft used on the originals, and since the FA's were primarily Freight, I'd imagine that they'd be solid green, especially since BN reserved the pistol stripe for Passenger (At least during their only year of passenger operation).

Also, no I havn't contacted G-Scale graphics yet, I'm still determining the point size off my Alco FA-1 for my FB-1 (custom painted SP Black Window), that And I just aquired an aristocraft 40' Boxcar, and I need to design some M.O.W/Short Line freight decals/slogan for it, I'm thinking of using the Garden railroad logo in my siggy for my boxcar decals, But I do plan to get ahold of them, I like their work that I saw on the website.
