I happened upon this site for the first time tonight (4-29-00). It is already 4-30-00 for everyone else, but I wanted to say how much I have been enjoying lurking in the shadows. This is a GREAT site! How long have you been going? Usually I surf through Railserve, but I never came across this until I happened upon someone's "me" page on eBay. Well, more about that later.... I am posting this in the N-scale forum because I have recently gone into N in a big way. I am working on trying to get a group going in a small community--not an easy thing to do. I have a building about 20' X 40' that I am preparing for an N-scale layout that will roughly represent the Union Pacific from Hinkle, OR to Nampa, ID. I have a lot of questions that I will be wanting to ask all your experts, but I'll hold off until I have a chance to see how many get answered in some of the other threads. I'll be returning to check on the continuing flow of information that comes from a terrific forum. Thanks for making this a reality--whoever may have been responsible. ------------------ Rett
UPguy, WELCOME to TrainBoard! We have been going for just over a month - how time flies when you are having fun As you can see, I am in England, and we can usually only dream of SO much space for a model railroad Best of luck with your endeavours. Keep checking back here, but don't just lurk - post This is a very active forum, and we are all very friendly The folks to thank for this site are two very clever people known as 'E-8' and 'The Rocket'. ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com
Sorry about the double post. (What an easy way to chalk up more posts.) I'll try not to use the "back" and "refresh" button to check activity. I didn't realize that I could double post that way. ------------------ Rett
Welcome Rett, I am a relatively new user of trainboard and I am delighted with the help and support I have received. This is a great bunch of guys. Robin http://members.xoom.com/Matthyro/index.html [This message has been edited by Robin Matthysen (edited 30 April 2000).]

E mail me at - grandtrunkent@RRmail.com and lets take it from there. Happy N Scaling. ------------------ Best Regards, Andrew, Calgay
Welcome Rett! I too am new to this forum. No place better to hang out. And by the way, you have excellent taste in prototype railroads!
I agree...this is a great forum and a bunch of nice guys posting on it. I also model the UP. How's everything in Cudahy? Lived in Milwaukee for 9 years...wonderful people in Wisconsin. Joe
Hello Joe, pleased to see you on the busiest forum around Welcome to TrainBoard - the friendly board ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com
guynn(Joe), Everything in Cudahy is just fine, aina hey. Yes, there are a lot of nice people in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. How are things in Indiana? Drove through Indiana once on my way to Florida(and I believe, once on the way back, if memory serves)... Tell us about your layout if you have time. Jeff
Jeff, my layout is sorta in limbo! I got back in to the hobby a little over two years ago, and used the base from my old layout that I started in the early 70's when I lived in WI. My train room is a spare bedroom (no basement), and now my wife says I can build a shelf layout around the room...so I will soon be tearing up what I have and start over. The room is'nt that big (11'5" x 8'10"). I'm figuring on maybe a 21" shelf.
