Aristocraft produced it first production samples for the SD-45 and the Doodlebug. They look very promessing to me ------------------ Paul the 2nd Paul Van Herwegen HO Rappannahock Terminal Railway G Emerald Valley RR http://users.pandora.be/paul.van.herwegen/
They both look superb! Almost me wish I was in this scale That Doodlebug should be a winner, a complete train in one piece of equipment ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator. The doodlebug isn't too bad, but I sure ain't Santa Fe. Was comparing the photo to a brass HO Santa Fe doodlebug I have and I am going to have to do a lot of work on it to get it anywhere close to Santa Fe. The black shuttered area on the front has to be replaced, also blank a few of the windows behind the baggage compartment, but the worst part is the lack of all the battery boxes, water tanks, etc. below the floor line. Those suckers (the real ones which I am old enough to have ridden on as a kid) have lots of goodies hanging down. I do realize it is the combine with a new end, before someone tells me.
I kind of like the way the doodlebugs came out. I don't really care if they match exactly to what a RR has. I just like to run them around and have fun. I came to G Scale as I don't want to be to much into being exact. Just want to have fun, and run trains. Art
as the man says, Art, each has his own way of making fun. For me, simply equipment that looks as close to the prototype as "humanly possible", the closer, the more fun. Your fun is just different from mine.
