okay guys, kinda new with the camera, and need some help with exactly what kind of loco's i actually took pictures of... here we go! let me know what i got! [ 13. March 2004, 21:54: Message edited by: E-8 ]
Rob, Great shots! The first one, I think is "Southern Junction" (behind 42nd Street Oyster Bar). If so, the train is on NS tracks, heading for Boylan Jct.; the track in the foreground belongs to CSX. Harold
haha, "twains" it was for many years for me, my parents showed me the teeth marks from my cribb chewing on the rail watching the NS go by a couple of blocks away. well, spring break is ending tomorrow, and then its back up to boone, NC where the closest railroad is "tweetsie", beyond that, is about an hours drive to anything common. hope yall have enjoyed the pictures, and thanks to the complements, thank goodness for no complaints! i have one more roll that will be posted as soon as i finish the roll, unfortunatly that may be a while seeing as in boone i really have nothing to photo! later, -Rob
Not at all bad for the first try, Rob. As Charlie said, the clouds in the first picture make what I call a photographer's sky. We certainly would like to see more, when you are able.
check out my rail images gallery, it has about 18 that i took from the day there. thanks for the compliments! -Rob http://www.railimages.com/gallery/robwilmoth
particularly proud of this one.... took it over my shoulder going away from it while driving, didnt even have time to look.... just pointed and shot, got it back today, its great!
Rob, Excellent shots one thing I like in particular is you captured the consist and not just the locomotives, too many of us tend to focus on the locomotives rather than the whole train Look forward to seeing more pics.
I like the composition of the 3rd one. Great curve, the whole train, as much as can be seen; is seen in the pic, and isn't cut off by the frame--the end of the train is cut off by a building, and that would seem natural in the city. The cluttered areas around the train are hard to get away from. I like it!
Hey Bud, Welcome aboard.... you snuck in on me Another NC railfan... it keeps getting better! What area of NC are you from? Also, Rob, next train show is at the end of the month... get ready Harold
thanks for the compliments! yeah, i was just pointing and shooting, i really didnt care what i shot, just getting pictures! Harold, im in Boone at school right now (for the next week) and then may 5th im home for the summer in north raleigh, which means more and more pictures from boyland! im gonna be at the GATS on sunday, so i hope to see you there!
