    The AT&SF had a woman Engineer in 1974, quite a step forward then.

    IIRC from visiting the San Diego train museum 35+/- years ago, SP had female engineers during WWII. They all were laid off after the War when the GI males returned to reclaim their pre-War jobs.

    I wonder how folks establish a "first"? She does not seem to be old enough, to be a first engineer?
