It's 1984 and the Budd built 48 is in excursion service from Indy to Chicago and return. Perhaps not the glory days when it was the tail car for the James Whitcomb Riley and Hoosier State, but it still served customers in the style of NYC. Oh Man, what a great trip that would be today. I can't get over $149 for travel, a champagne breakfast, a full dinner, beverage service, two nights in a hotel, and all the photos you could take....!
Now you both have to remember when it cost about $20 New York-Chicago on the Water Level Route. That was a little further back in the time machine than 1984. Then there's George Orwell.....
The New York.....er ex NYC Sandy Creek is still available to ride in. Does take a few more coins than in days of old but still cheeper and more available than a time machine.
