Were all of this series oil burners? If yes, were ANY of the 1500s coal burners? What numbers? Did any of them retain all spoke wheels, till the very end?

The series 1500-1513 were all oil burners, as were 1515-1519. The series 1520-1529, built in 1926, were built as coal burners but were converted to oil in 1927. Stagner's "Frisco Steam Finalle" says that loco's 1503, 1504, 1511, 1513, 1514, 1523, 1525, and 1528 were converted to coal in 1948 due to high oil costs.
