Shot these two relics of the Frisco at the Galena (KS) Mining Museum last month: On the side of a Fairmont speeder. BN 11680, an ex-Frisco 1400-class caboose. Frisco did have a branchline that ran between Baxter Springs and Joplin, MO quite a few years ago.
Been there and toured that myself many years back.Although I drive by it all the time.I live in Columbus,Ks about 15 minutes from galena.
Mr FriscoBob, any idea where the old BN-12345 caboose ever wound up!?!?!? I'd see it from time to time when I worked out of Alliance, NE... but never had a camera at the ready when I WOULD happen to get a glance of her :O/ And never got to ride her, either. Got one of her 'sisters' here in TX, though. The BN-12327 still lives & rolls on the Boise City Sub between Amarillo & La Junta, CO ;o)
