As many of you know I did a caboose conversion a while back, using the wheel hardware from an old Atlas bobber caboose. Well, I had this bobber caboose with no wheels...so I did a little project. Here are before and after shots. There are lots more over in Rail Images, check em out! John BEFORE AFTER
These old codgers have forgotten more about railroading than the new management of the C & S will ever know, but they tend to get in the way, so management has "put them out back" to live. Whenever the new guys get stuck, they amble by and ask the questions they need answered. Inevitably they get the answer with the following warning "Back in MY day we would have just known how to do that!!" The old guys are really just having fun with the new guys (some of whom are almost as old but with far less experience). They know they have the best of both worlds, they can do pretty much what they want and still get a paycheck! John
Thanks! They are fun to make too! All it is is the cut-down end of a CA applicator where it narrows down. After I cut it I paint it an old bottle color (this one is purple). I get them at Hobby Lobby for a couple of bucks a bag. John
I think there are six or eight per bag. A bit pricey simply to cut up but I do use all of the parts John
27 June 2007 JCARTER. Very good. I like the rain barrel. Now, if you had a dog in place to 'warn those fellow's' when... . Larry @ SCRS
27 June 2007 JCARTER The dog is super. He was on DUTY all the time. He was out of my line of sight. Will have to remember that when I ask those guys for use of the facility. One other thing. I think the rain barrel is leaking. The dark green weeds there must have a good water source. Larry @ SCRS
I think the hound is more likely to lick you to death than to bark or bite The leaky water barrel is no problem as long as there is a good supply of Red Eye Rye on hand John
