The new BLI light Pacific came in yesterday. It was with a bit of trepidation and concern that I pulled it out of the box and checked it out, after my PRR T1 experience. It is a beauty in NP paint !

So I tried a new type of video for me,

And next will be a programming video, setting the CV's and watching it work.

The BLI light pacific is the one P3 equipped loco of theirs that I have been very pleased to own and operate. Glad it worked out for you as well.

After playing with it a bit, and reading a bit here n there, I did a first lap pulling a 9 car NP varnish. It did amazingly well! I had to turn the volume WAY down as I like mine to be there but not over powering. I turned it down some more after the video because it was drowning out all my others, which says a lot for their speaker. The speaker is a great sounding unit, though, with a lot of bass for it's size. The CV ended up at 25 for the volume! I also reduced the top speed and mid speed CV's so it has a bit better crawl, may tweak that some more after perusing the Tech Manual, which is 242 pages thick!

I do need to figure out how to adjust the chuff rate as it is counting off 5 chuffs per revolution right now.

    Anyway, here's a jittery complete run around the layout with the NP varnish;

My thoughts exactly! Way better than the Northern! And it pulls them well, even up a 2% curved incline!

But today being Memorial Day, when I remember a long list of family that have stood in harm's way for Freedom, a tradition two of my brothers and I continued, I remain thankful I have peace to 'play' with my trains. So, I did!

First off I built a couple of switches, and then stained up some structure wood and fussed with the CV's on 844 to try to make the "hitch in 'er giddyup" git gone. It is some better. So ran it with a string of modern NP varnish, including 2 new ones from W of T at the end of the string!

A bit of progress, stained up some parts for the oil loading platforms and did some other stuff, then ran a couple of trains,

And of course a video, as proof that it happened, to quote a moose....

Made some progress today and had a relaxing day off, mostly. The oil processing facility is coming along, the loading racks and more of the processing plant are coming together, after much perusal,
    PIC_0427.JPG PIC_0429.JPG PIC_0430.JPG PIC_0432.JPG

Trains had to run while work progressed, though,

Spent some time over the last few weeks getting some nice scenery shots and getting them printed out here locally. They came out ok, but I will need to be working on the proportions in the next printing. They really do add to the scene though!!

They look awesome, especially the last one. I can imagine the train going around the bend into the distant horizon (and vice versa).

Thanks guys. These were taken just east of town right off the Interstate. Easy to get. They sure do make the scene deeper, tho' they are a bit 'blue' and over proportioned just now. Standby for another round of better proportioned pics.....

Just tell everyone these are summertime scenes, with a bit of forest fire smoke haze...

How much damage did these do to your wallet?

That might be a good idea! The local office store printed these 4 out for 58 bux. Each is 3 feet long by 16 inches of print. Not bad.

Besides tacking those up, there hasn't been a lot of time to run trains. I did get them ran out of the yard, for repairs and upgrades to be done there, but finally, this morning I made time to go and just run a couple of the old reliables.

It has been a busy few weeks. Spent time and ran a couple trains the last couple of days. Have a table set up out there for doing Uncle Sam paperwork, taxes. Which gives me an excuse to run a train or two. Happy days!! Am also packing up a couple of trains to go run on the CM&B next week out to the farm in Iowa. And who knows what other train fun will occur............

And that off into the shadowy sunset train.... for MK

The NPBH is on vacation to the CM&B in Iowa. Therefore, two trains have come along.
