Hi guys, the "G"scale? forum name is a bit misleading. there are umpteen different scales fall within the orbit of G .Not just 1.22.5 Can I suggest that the forum be re-named as "Garden scales" . Folks who are not into G probably don't appreciate the differences between the various garden scales. Can I suggest that either each outdoor scale has it's own forum like G /1/29th, G1/32nd etc or simply rename the forum "Garden scales" The scale issue is a bit of a hotbed of discussion these days within the garden fraternity. To draw a comparison it's like there was an "HOForum" but it really represented HO ,OO,HOn3 etc.,etc.,. Just a suggestion guys but important to some of us "Garden" modellers . All the best Davy
Hi Davey, I think the title Garden Scales, or maybe Larger Scales, would be a good idea. This could encompass everything above HO.
Hi Davy, My vote is for Large Scale rather than Garden scale. The last GR featured an outdoor layout executed in O. And I've seen plenty of large scale modular and indoor layouts. Garden indicates where the layout is located. Large scale generally represents 1:20.3, 1:22.5, 1;24, 1:29, and 1:32. Whew -- did I get them all? Hopefully someday it will all get whittled down to 1:20.3 for 3.0 foot narrow gauge and either 1:29 or 1:32 for standard gauge. Tom
Hi Alan and Tom, Tom you are probably right, Large Scales probably would be better or even "Large and Garden" Scales would be even more appropriate ?? Whatever as Toms list of scales illustrates it's not as simple or correct to describe G as 1-22.5. , it's only part of the story. Thanks guys DAVY
