I hope this is the correct forum. I came across an old b&w flick on N'flix entitled Appointment With Danger (Paramount, 1951) that is largely filmed on location in Gary, Indiana. Unless one is a big Alan Ladd fan, the movie itself is pretty mundane; the movie contains a couple scenes shot in and around Gary Union Station when it was a busy place. There are two really nice, but short, scenes shot in the station's big waiting room, as well as a couple with the actors arriving at the station's main entrance. There is also a chase scene filmed inside the passenger tunnel and then one of the platforms, the end of which has Ladd hopping a boxcar being pulled by what appears to be a NYC Niagara. There is also a brief run-by by a C&O passenger train, as well as lots and lots of steel mill stuff and railroady scenes that simply could not have been shot in a studio in 1951. If one can get past the movie's ridiculous premiss, there is a pretty good look here a few places in Gary before the rot set in.
