I'm using GC Laser n scale shingles on a scratchbuilding project, and while I really like the level of detail they provide, they look too 'tall' or thick to me. Does anyone have any ideas on how to reduce the height of the shingles to give the roof an overall smoother look?

When I place this building next to a building w/ spanish tile, the shingles look thicker than the tile, where it should be the other way around....

Has anyone sanded GC shingles? I was thinking sanding them down (after the glue has dried and they are securely fastened to the roof) but wasn't sure if this would work. Can you sand paper? I may do an experiment on a test roof panel but was looking for guidance from the experts here before I waste my time making a test panel (they take a long time to apply - row by row....)
