Definitely NOT Moffat Tunnel. I'e been to both ends. Highway, Winter Park ski area, parking lot(s) etc.....are not seen. Here's a track level shot of Moffat, west end. Ski Train at West end. Taken from highway level.
Short tunnel, less than a mile long. Fair sized deciduous trees with what looks to be sagebrush? No sign of any pines. Certainly atypical for North America. Bob in IDaho
Do they build curved tunnels? Because I can't see how those portals line up! Could be NZ or AU; but I don't remember it from my searching on that last (French) one..
i thought mabie moffat tunnel because of the hill on top pf the tunnle but my second guess is the Nicolson Tunnel in Nicolson PA because of the pines and birch trees and the mountainous terrain and also the tight curve
Hint #1 This was not a hint as to the location, in fact I don't think HEMI has ever been here :tb-rolleyes: :tb-rolleyes: :tb-rolleyes: :tb-rolleyes:
It's not the right colour for South-East France / North West Italy; so I'm gonna go find something else to do... Ooh, new posts in the Expert 002 thread...
You too, huh? I can't find any landforms of the right colour and pattern around North Italy, South France, North France, Belgium, Germany, Poland or Chile. So I would lean towards Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil or I overlooked somewhere in Europe. That last photo has zoomed out so far I can't see the tracks any more The little black smudge near the top is water, with a definite man-made dam across it. The roads are irregular - no big American Freeways; the towns are small and look picturesque; so I'm inclined to say not North America.
Flew around Eastern Europe (with 3d buildings switched off) and saw some bits that looked similar; but no matches. Someone else's turn Heh. my shiny new Helix has tunnels. Not very long ones though
If you're confused, how do you think I feel? I'm not even sure which continent it is on anymore. It's a curved tunnel in a hilly / mountainous area where they have trees. Dark green trees. The photographs are a mixture of high resolution and low resolution. A very small dam holding dark blue water but not a large lake. No large rivers handy. What looks to be an airport along the ridge on the right-hand end of the last photo. Lots of towns in the valleys, picturesque and not grid-like. The zoomed in photo implied red roofs, similar to Mediterranean areas. More paddock-like farming in the top-left corner. Photo is rotated some multiple of 30 degrees from true North; although depending on the satellite, it might be 45 degrees and an angled shot / stripe. My vote would be to rotate clockwise 60 degrees, to make the padock-like farming more north and less west. Other than that, I'm stumped. Your turn. Obligatory Helix "tunnel" photo. It's curved too. Just no mountains (yet)
