That reminds me- you got the limits of wins in the Beginners contest with 6, and you're the VERY FIRST ONE to do it!

    Not yet I'm not!
Had a few ideas to check into.
    No such luck yet.
But then, next clue could be all I need. Then again.......

    Just east of Heromosa Tunnel
    Harriman Cutoff on the UP.
    SE of Laramie, Wy.
    Approx 41*05'16.44"N 105*24'30.75"W

    Close enough for jazz.............

    Congrats Kieth!!

Dale Junction, WY, on the UP's Harriman Cutoff (a/k/a Track 3)(Dale Jct. is east of Hermosa Tunnel)

Looks like the backside of nowhere, but UP's line over Sherman Hill sees an awful lot of action- 2 tracks over the original grade, plus 1 on the Harriman Cutoff. Takes a 4X4 and the consittution of a mountain goat to fan, but it's well worth it!

I don't recall needing to shift into 4-hi to get up the road on that hill, but it was rutted, rough, and steep!

You're not as heavy as I am, either..........:p

Those two pics you showed remind me of that high spot over the Harriman Cutoff, looking either west toward Dale Jct. or back in the general direction of Perkins.

That shot is much rarer to see, but both are neat shots. Alaska GP49 showed me that spot.
