I see what appears to be an engine. The colors, if so, seem to be those I saw in photos somewhere. But am not coming up with anything at present.

I assume that people eventually identify these locales? With 137,500 route miles of freight railroad track in the U.S. alone (per the AAR), guessing wouldn't seem to provide much promise.

I've forgotten how fun this was, but I did miss it somehow ;-)

Yeah, I'll throw you a bone, and like so many times before, it will only be a little piece :)

Ok, it will be a good chunk I'll bite of the search area - Rule out everything west of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas and Texas.

It also appears there is an ex-AT&SF engine in view.

    That's right, it's a CF7

Another hint could be that we're in "bluesland" - Biting of the North East :)

Seems a little slow here . Maybe if I cut the search area further down by saying that it is in a state, that borders to the Mississippi River, then maybe there would be a little more run on this. Come on, let's get out of these muddy waters:sneaky:

    Ha ha, yeah :)

It's not easy to give you anymore hints without revealing too much. But as always, those who're able to read a little between the lines, might be able to find some clues :sneaky::sneaky:

Mississippi Delta Railroad, Clarksdale, MS. Muddy Waters! (I grew up in Chicago; older brother was seriously into the local Blues scene.)

It is good to see some activity here again.

If my memory is correct, this is ex-GM&O territory. Does the Mississippi Export still exist? Or is Mississippi Delta a successor operation to the ME?

The ME is still going strong, despite the closure of the paper mill that provided sustenance for many years. They seem to have a good traffic base, though I have no details. A friend took this photo at Moss Point, MS in July 2017.
